Bar/Bat Mitzvah Earliest Date Finder

According to Jewish law (halacha), a boy becomes Bar Mitzvah (a son of the Commandment) at Age 13, and a girl becomes Bat Mitzvah (a daughter of the Commandment) at age 12. However, for number of reasons, NLS celebrates B'nei Mitzvah at age 13 for both boys and girls.

To find out you children's Hebrew birthday in the year of their B'nei Mitzvah, use the date converter below:

1. Enter their Gregorian birth date and year and click convert (ie., 24 January, 2003). Click convert. The corresponding Hebrew date of birth is shown on the right.

2. In the Hebrew date converter (the info on the right), add 13 to the year shown, and click that convert button. The resulting Gregorian date is the earliest date for celebrating your child's Bar or Bat Mitzvah.
