Head of Youth Development, Sam Pallis

The newest member of our team, Sam Pallis, is our Head of Youth Development.

"I’m delighted to be joining the team at New London Synagogue as Head of Youth Development. Although I am new to this post I have been a familiar face around the Shul, having taught at the Cheder for the past four years, which has enabled me to bring my inclusive style of learning to the children I teach.

I believe that children learn and engage in many different ways and come from diverse backgrounds and I always attempt to reflect this in my classes.  It is great to tap into the natural curiosity of children and to provide pathways for them on their Jewish journeys. As Head of Youth Development I am excited to think of new programming for the young people and their families in our community, such as our new drop in session for parents and babies. I would also like to think beyond our community to develop work around social action and make connections with other Jewish communities; one such exciting proposal is an exchange programme for young people with Paris Masorti.

I am a graduate of Cambridge University and am currently doing an MA at London University in the history of political thought.  I have worked extensively both in Theatre, Education, and as a theatre educator across schools in London. I am a member of New Stoke Newington Masorti.

I would love to hear from you about any ideas you have for our current provision or future projects for our Youth Hub.

Sam Pallis"
