Teen Programme

Join our flagship Post-B'nei Mitzvah Lunch & Learn - pizza will be served! An opportunity for young people from years 9-13 to deepen their relationship with Judaism through a series of talks and workshops from leading Jewish figures, from inside and outside the New London community.  In each session, the guest speaker leads an exploration of their field of specialty, from medicine to music, food, theatre, film, Jewish history and more. The conversation and camaraderie promise to be excellent.

Where: Hall, New London Synagogue

Lunch: Kosher pizza and snacks are provided. No charge.

Family Kabbalat Shabbat Meal, Year 7

A warm and welcoming Friday night service for all the family, with song, t'filah and fun Torah-related activities for young people. Led by Rabbi Jeremy and Cantor Jason, with age-specific activities for children led by Sam Pallis, Head of Youth Development, and Hannah Kashman, NOAM Masorti youth worker. Includes a delicious, light supper of mini pizzas, crudités, dips, mini challah rolls and fruit.

Where: Hall, New London Synagogue.

  • 15th December 2017 – Special Chanukah Kabbalat Shabbat with latkes and doughnuts.


NOAM (Masorti Youth Movement)

NOAM run a range of activities for primary-aged children and teenagers throughout the year, including weekly clubs, and summer and winter camps with exciting activities. They also run a fantastic, month-long Israel tour for young people aged 16. NOAM provides many opportunities to meet new friends and to engage with Judaism in a fun and youth-led environment.

This year we are delighted to have Hannah Kashman, NOAM Mazkirah, as our youth worker at New London Synagogue. She will be coming into NLS every 3rd Saturday of the Month to lead the Youth Service for years 5-7. Shabbat Morning Service for Children, Years 5-7

On the 3rd Shabbat each Month, 11:00-11:45am, led by Hannah Kashman, NOAM Mazkirah, giving a deeper insight to the Shabbat morning service and a sense of Jewish leadership and responsibility. Followed by Youth Kiddush.

Where: Top ("Blue") Classroom, New London Synagogue (meet in the foyer at 10:50am)
