Welcome to New London’s Digital Services Provision
Shabbat and Festivals
We use a ‘set & forget’ streaming provision you should be able to view from here. You can set up your computer to begin streaming before Shabbat comes in and enjoy our services. Just remember to turn on the volume. Click here for a troubleshooting guide if it’s close to Shabbat and the feed isn’t automatically loading for you.
That, at least is the plan. This is a system designed to be consistent with the observance of Shabbat and Yom Tov. We aren’t going to be able troubleshoot during these most sacred days and one of the great messages of our faith is that human plans count for little in the eyes of God. If things go wrong, and they may go wrong, sorry. If you are interested in the reasoning behind our adoption of this system, click here to read an article by Rabbi Jeremy on the subject.
What Does the Digital Service Look and Sound Like?
We don’t record our Shabbat services, but Rabbis Jeremy and Natasha and Chazan Stephen recorded this sneak-peak upload of the Yigdal of the Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat service.
Daily Morning Minyan
During the week our morning services are on Zoom. You can join us here or by calling 0203 051 2874 and using the code 324 434 273.
Guests, infrequent attendees and new minyanaires are all warmly welcome. Shacharit is a warm and welcoming space and if you have any questions about what to expect, or … anything, please let us know at email@example.com.
Usually we start at 8:30am Monday-Friday and 9am on Sunday; services last approximately 45 minutes
We do occasionally start earlier for Rosh Chodesh and similar, please drop us a line to ensure you get notifications of unusual arrangements.
Chazan Stephen and Rabbis Jeremy and Natasha also upload videos to our Facebook page – www.facebook.com/newlondonsyn/videos. You’ll find extracts from the prayers for special days in our liturgical calendar, mini-sermons, material for youth and a whole lot more. Give our page a ‘like’ and you’ll see these offerings coming up in your feed. Or select to be notified whenever there are new postings.
Enjoy this year’s Purim spiel – try not to laugh too hard!
Rosh Hashanah Uploads
For Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur we prepared some pre-uploads. Available below.
If you appreciate this, please share our offerings, and let us know firstname.lastname@example.org we would love to hear from you and we can add you to our mailing list so you can stay up-to-date.
And, if you can, please consider making a donation that allows us to continue to do this important work.
These Covid-affected times, of course, hit and hurt in so many ways. We’ve seen a rise in the pastoral demands made on our community, and a rise in the desire of members and non-members to connect to our offerings. And we’ve also experienced particular financial challenge. We rely on several streams of income that have disappeared this year; HHD ticket sales, wedding fees and the like. And we have members who have turned to us in need of financial support at this time.
You can make a gift here. Just click ‘general donation’ in the box marked ‘what are you paying for.’ You can also add any further information, particularly if you want to make a donation in memory or in honour of anyone we should know about.
Your support is so appreciated. Your financial support additionally so. Thank you.
