New London Synagogue is looking for a skilled and experienced Jewish educator and education-mananger able to inspire and develop our youth’s love and understanding of our tradition.
The New London Synagogue Cheder meets 33 times a year, largely on Sunday mornings, and currently has 60 children (reception – Year 8) on the register. You will manage our team of teachers and teenage teaching assistants and work with parents as a key member of the Synagogue’s professional team.
The successful candidate will:
- have a love and understanding of Judaism
- be able to manage instilling that love and understanding in our younger members
- be sensitive to the differing ways (age-appropriate ways and otherwise) young people learn
- ensure the Cheder remains a safe and supportive space for students, families and staff alike.
Teaching qualifications and experience of supplemental Jewish education are strongly preferred.
