From the time of its founding, New London Synagogue has always been a Beit Midrash – a house of study. Our founding Rabbi, Dr Louis Jacobs, was a Talmid Chacham – a Torah scholar and a teacher, and that love of learning continues to inspire the community. The range of educational opportunities for all ages and interests includes:
- Our Cheder, Sunday School, (from Reception to year 7)
- Our Bar/Bat Mitzvah Programme (for years 6 to 9)
- Our L’Hayim Conversion Programme
- Adult Hebrew learning – including occasional crash courses for complete beginners and weekly classes for progressing learners
- Adult Education sessions with the Rabbi, Cantor and guests
- Occasional Torah, Haftarah and Megillah reading (trope) classes
- Basic and Advanced level service leadership (sh’lichut) courses
